(Re-emphasizing “The Foundation”)

This isn’t your typical “come get your thyroid medication” plan.  Healing requires a true commitment to health and wellness.

T1: Get blood work

T2: Get an ultrasound of your thyroid

T3: Get your adrenals tested

T4: Address the foundation -> this is where most people go wrong; neglecting to address behaviors that have contributed to the state of sickness. You cannot move forward with just a pill; you have to be willing to put in the work. The foundations of health include:

a) Water intake: ask yourself if you are drinking enough water. A good rule of thumb is to consume half of your body weight in ounces per day, however, here in Arizona as the heat increases, your needs may go up.

b) Nutrition: are you consuming healthy, organic sources of food? Are you consuming enough protein to sustain your metabolism, curb your appetite, and provide you with enough amino acids to run your machinery? Are you eating good sources of fats such as coconut and olive oil, avocados and nuts? How about veggies?

Most people are very quick to add sources of carbohydrate to their diet and think they are eating “healthy”. Make sure that ALL of your meals contain at least ONE source of protein and that your snacks are mainly protein based!!

c) Sleep: do you watch TV until the time you go to bed? Do you stay up scrolling on your smartphone? I encourage you to disconnect from BLUE LIGHT 2 hours prior to bed time. Blue light has been shown to suppress melatonin and since the goal is to go to sleep, this is probably not the ideal.

d) Fun: when was the last time you did something fun? Having fun is necessary in my books, so if you cannot remember when you had fun, please do yourself a favor and go do something amazing!

T5: Implement T1-T4, add thyroid medication and/or adrenal support if necessary.

T6: Rinse and repeat!
